The trouble with escape is that it is only a lie you tell yourself
when you cannot face the bitter taste of truth.
Escape taunts you, it calls you, it pleads with you,
desperate with its sexy tantalizing allure.
Chasing it, you traverse ancient deserts, climb frigid mountains,
roam foreign lands, or drown in seas
of whiskey and gin.
But as far as you run, as deep as you hide,
the truth will always find you.
And sometimes, only loneliness, guilt and shame
can give you the strength to face it.
The irony of courage is that sometimes
it is when we are at our weakest
that we finally have the strength to face
ourselves.

Oh, this hits close to home for me….
It seems a lot of people I know are kind of going through this right now. Tough times, and I think we all feel we just need to get away from it all.
